ADHD

Trouble starting, finishing and keeping track, in a life that has got harder to hold together than it should be.

Adults come to ADHD from several directions. Some have known since school. Some worked out a system that held until a job changed, a child arrived, or the support of a routine disappeared. Some are here because a family member was assessed and the description sounded familiar. What people usually describe is the gap between intention and action: the task that is understood, agreed and still not started, the deadline met by a sprint at midnight, the keys, the appointment, the second half of a conversation.

Where people start here. For ADHD the usual starting point is a Psychiatric Evaluation. It is a full hour with a prescriber covering your history, school and work, sleep, physical health and anything you are already taking, because several other things can look like this and they are worth ruling in or out before anything is decided. Whether Medication Management has a part to play comes out of that conversation and not before it.

Therapy is useful alongside it for the practical layer: how you organise a week, what to do with a task you keep bouncing off, and what to change about the environment rather than about you.

Bring anything you already have: a previous assessment, school reports, or notes from another provider. None of it is required to book.

Appointments run one hour, in person in Bowie or by telehealth. We see adults 18 and over.
