How it works
A telehealth appointment is the same appointment. Same clinician, same hour, same notes, same plan. What changes is that you join by video from wherever you are instead of coming to the office in Bowie.
A first appointment does not have to be in person. If walking into a clinic is the thing standing between you and starting, you can start from home. Nobody has to be seen in the building first, and nothing has to be rescheduled later because you began by video.
What you need
Not much. A phone, tablet or computer with a camera, and somewhere you can talk without being overheard. A parked car counts, and plenty of people use one.
If your connection drops, we call you. Bring a phone number you can be reached on so an appointment is not lost to a bad signal.
What to think about
The main thing worth planning is privacy at your end. Ours is covered; yours is the part only you can arrange, so it is worth deciding in advance where you will take the call.
If you would rather be seen in person, that stays available for everything on this page, and you can switch between the two as it suits you. Neither costs more than the other.
